Good Friends Support Network

Good Friends complements other support services for older and vulnerable people by recruiting local people interested in a light volunteering role to support those in their area who are in need, whether it’s to relieve someone from loneliness and isolation or to assist them in simple day to day tasks. We do this by matching volunteers with others in their area, and offer training, support and information to help them do this effectively.

Through the Good Friends Support Network, we intend to create a means of two-way communication between service providers and organisations in Darlington. By joining, you’ll receive a newsletter with updates throughout the year, and the services below:

Signposting Service

Where we find a participant of the scheme could use additional support, we will signpost to your organisation or service.

Referrals

If you have a client or patient who may benefit from the support of a Good Friend, you can pass them on to the service.

Network Newsletter

We'll keep you up to date on project progress and you can submit relevant news and event information. We can also pass this information on to volunteers and recipients of the service.

Good Friends materials for partners and clients

We can provide posters, leaflets and registration/referral forms for you to hand out to your clients.
